Open the Designer for a data product
There are two paths to the Designer. Use whichever fits how you got here.

Path 1: from the Data Products page
Use this when you’ve just run the wizard, or when you’re working from the data products list.
- Open Studio > Data Products. The page lists every data product, with status, model count, and source table count.
- Find the data product you want to design.
- Click the pencil icon under the Actions column. The Designer opens with that data product loaded on the canvas.
Path 2: from the sidebar
Use this when you already know the canvas is where you want to be.
- Open Studio > Designer from the sidebar. The Designer opens with whichever data product was last loaded, or empty if it’s your first time.
- If you need a different data product, click Add Data Product at the top of the canvas. A picker shows the available data products. Choose one to bring it onto the canvas.
You can keep multiple data products on the canvas at once. This is useful when one data product references models from another, but it’s not required for routine work.
What you see when the canvas opens
The data product you opened sits in the centre. If it has dependencies on other data products, those appear as separate cards labelled with their model count. If it has a deployed semantic view, that appears on the right.
Source tables that have already been connected sit on the left, each linked to the model they map to. If the data product is fresh from the wizard, no source tables are connected yet and you’ll see empty source picker cards waiting for input.
